Monitor Microsoft IIS Internet Information Services

Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services, also known as Internet Information Server) is a set of Internet-based technologies including HTTP(s), FTP(s) and SMTP. The first version of IIS was introduced in Windows NT 3.51, and has part of all succeeding Windows server platforms.Today, almost 30% of all public web sites are based on IIS.

An MS IIS check requires the following parameters:

  • Services - A list of Microsoft IIS Server services that should be running on the target server;
  • Processes - A list of Microsoft IIS Server services that should be running on the target server;
  • WMI Performance Counters - A list of Microsoft IIS Server performance counters that should be monitored.
