ActiveXperts SMS and MMS Toolkit 5.1 Release Notes

INTRODUCTION

SMS and MMS Toolkit 5.1 is a new ActiveXperts product. It replaces two existing ActiveXperts products: 'ActiveXperts SMS and Pager Toolkit' and 'ActiveXperts MMS Toolkit'.
Those two products will be supported for at least another two years.
The mission of the product is to provide an easy to use interface to Windows developers for sending and receiving SMS- and MMS messages.
The product runs on the Windows 2008/Vista/2003/2000 operating systems, and can be used by various development tools, including Visual Basic .NET, Visual C# .NET, Visual Basic, Visual C++, ASP .NET, ASP, PHP, VBScript, Borland Delphi, Borland C++ Builder and Java/JavaScript.

WHAT'S NEW IN SMS and MMS TOOLKIT 5.1

SMS and MMS Toolkit 5.1 adds .NET sample projects created with Visual Studio 2005. The .NET samples require Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. You must install .NET Framework 2.0, or .NET Framework 3.0 or 3.5, which both include .NET Framework 2.0, in order to run the .NET samples.

In previous versions of SMS and MMS Toolkit, the .NET samples were created in Visual Studio 2002.

There are no incremental bug fixes or new features in this release other than SMS and MMS Toolkit 5.0, so it is not necessary to upgrade if you do not intend to use the .NET samples

- Upgrade -

Upgrading from a previous version should be done in the following way:

Uninstall the previous SMS and MMS Toolkit product. Use the 'Add/Remove Programs' applet in the Control Panel to start the Uninstall procedure;
Download the SMS and MMS Toolkit 5.1 Installation file from the ActiveXperts Software web site: www.activexperts.com/download;
Start the SMS and MMS Toolkit 5.1 Installation. The InstallShield wizard will guide you through the steps of the installation.
